On July 9, 2018, Dr. Ben Blaisdell, Assistant Professor in the Department of Special Education, Foundations and Research, gave the invited keynote address at the launch of the Race Staff Network at Sheffield Hallam University in Sheffield, England. Counselor education program collaborates with AMEXCAN to provide college readiness tips

East Carolina University’s Counselor Education Program is collaborating with the Association of Mexicans in North Carolina (AMEXCAN) and this summer its students are working on a service learning project entitled, “Education Academy for Latino Parents and Students in North Carolina.” On May 19 and June 2, Dr. Syntia Santos-Dietz and her students visited the central office of AMEXCAN in Greenville and interacted with the local community.
